The Wildbirch Hotel, located onsite in Anchorage, AK, seeks a Food and Beverage Manager to lead our guest-focused hospitality operations. Overview
Energetic and dynamic leadership is required to oversee daily restaurant activities, manage staff, uphold food quality and safety standards, and drive guest service across our hotel food service operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise food and beverage operations, ensuring smooth shift management and high-quality service delivery.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain consistency and excellence in every dish served.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimizing waste to optimize profitability.
- Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation.
- Train, develop, and motivate staff members to uphold food safety standards, customer service excellence, and operational procedures.
- Conduct staff interviews, performance evaluations, and ongoing training sessions to foster a skilled and engaged team.
- Monitor compliance with health regulations, food safety protocols, and sanitation standards across all food service areas.
- Analyze profit and loss statements to identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost reduction strategies.
- Coordinate catering events, banquets, or special functions, ensuring seamless execution from setup to service.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience managing food service operations within casual dining or fine dining environments; restaurant management experience required.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary processes, and kitchen management practices.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Infrasys / Shiigii POS; experience with cash handling is essential.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising teams, managing shifts, and conducting staff training and development programs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage managerial responsibilities effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and compliance with health regulations.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to budgeting, inventory control, and sales analysis.
- Experience with managing hospitality teams in high-volume settings such as quick service or fast-food restaurants is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in catering or banquet settings is a plus; hotel or hospitality industry background is advantageous.
